Esplanade de la Place des Arts lors du Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, 2022
Place des Arts is Canada’s largest arts and cultural complex. Located in the heart of the Quartier des Spectacles, it totals six concert halls, including Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier, the country’s largest multi-purpose venue with 3,000 seats, Maison symphonique de Montréal and Théâtre Maisonneuve. Its wide-ranging programming includes large-scale shows and more intimate performances. It is also home to major arts organizations such as the Opéra de Montréal and Les Grands Ballets canadiens. Its six auditoriums represent a total of nearly 8,000 seats, and its outdoor esplanade is the meeting place for major Montreal festivals. The city block it occupies also includes rehearsal rooms, restaurants, boutiques, administrative spaces, an indoor parking lot and the Musée d’art contemporain. The complex is Quebec's leading arts presenter and produces the Festival Tempéo Danse et musique, held once a year on its esplanade.
