The MEM will be holding monthly gatherings with citizens who are involved in promoting and preserving their neighborhood’s history and heritage.
From September to April, the MEM and the Laboratoire d’histoire et de patrimoine de Montréal (LHPM) at UQAM will be holding a one-day gathering every month to explore citizens’ involvement in history and heritage. For this last gathering in the series, we’ll be welcoming the Société d’histoire d’Ahuntsic-Cartierville and the Société patrimoine et histoire de l’île Bizard et Sainte-Geneviève.
Between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., their members will be in the MEM’s Belvedere to talk about these two riverside boroughs. From the ice cutters of Île Bizard to the mills of Sault-au-Récollet, Rivière des Prairies has plenty of secrets to reveal!
At 2 p.m., make your way to the MEM Cabaret for a round table discussion on how both historical societies are working to protect and showcase the heritage of their respective boroughs.
Places limited. First come, first seated.
